Angels Trumpet Ale House opened six years ago in downtown Phoenix. It has become a popular spot for beer aficionados, known for its everchanging selection of craft brews on tap and fun bar fare including upscale TV dinners and homemade pop tarts.

In early August, a new location of Angels Trumpet opened at 44th Street and Thomas. Angels Trumpet owners Sharry and Mat Englehorn live in the area and saw a need for a fun and welcoming neighborhood hangout. The new location is housed in a 10,000-square-foot space that used to be a Sears Auto Center. The restaurant maintains some of the building’s industrial and architectural elements in a fresh and an inviting space.

The new location offers two great concepts in one building to meet the needs of a variety of guests. Angels Trumpet’s spacious dining room has more than 30 beers on tap while Tall Glass features craft cocktails and cozy booths. The venue has custom artwork, two outdoor areas and a private event space that can accommodate up to 46 people. Future plans include opening a microbrewery on site.

The food menu at both Angels Trumpet locations has a selection of shareable items, including crispy wings with dipping sauces, chipotle hummus, a warm sausage platter and several varieties of pizza flatbreads with options for meat lovers and vegetarians. The menu also includes salads, burgers and sandwiches, such as avocado salad with grapefruit, smoked beets, goat cheese and orange champagne vinaigrette; the brewlee with a choice of grilled chicken or ground beef topped with bacon, pepper jack cheese, sriracha mayo and a fried egg; and barbecue brisket grilled cheese with smoked mozzarella and house made barbecue sauce. Tasty taco options include beef brisket, grilled chicken and hefeweizen beer battered cod.

Dessert is a must at Angels Trumpet with homemade pop tarts that are very different than the ones you popped into the toaster as a kid. They are crisp and light with flavors that change regularly and are truly unique, like strawberry cream and mint, and blueberry with rosemary balsamic reduction.

Whether you fancy a wide selection of beers, craft cocktails or elevated bar fare, Angels Trumpet offers an inviting space with a good time on tap.
