    Cosanti Announces Spring Tile-Making Experiences Beginning MARCH 2 - April 6, 2024

    Cosanti in Paradise Valley has announced four spring Tile-Making Experiences. During each hands-on class, guests will be guided through the exceptional tile-making and design process developed by The Cosanti Foundation and used every day by the artisans of Cosanti Originals. Each Tile-Making Experience begins at 10 a.m. with an introductory tour of Cosanti, which will highlight its history and theory. At 11 a.m. the process of forming a clay slab begins, using canvas and a roller. Then the slab will be sized, measured and cut into tile pieces. The highlight of the day takes place noon. Instructors will show guests the main tools and techniques used to imprint a design into the clay tile, just as Cosanti artisans do. The instructors will elaborate on their unique styles of artwork with the Cosanti family of design as well as individual expression. At 1 p.m., the experience concludes with a brief photo session of participants and their tiles. After the class, the clay tiles will be fired and lightly glazed. Participants’ tiles will be shipped directly to them. Four sessions are offered throughout the spring: Saturday, March 2 Saturday, April 6 Saturday, May 4 Saturday, June 8 Come prepared to “get your hands dirty!” Cost per session is $125, per person.     In support of college basketball taking over the valley, the city of Scottsdale is thrilled to bring a series of basketball-themed activations to Old Town Scottsdale. Beginning Thursday, March 22, Marshall Way Bridge will begin its transformation into “Old Town Scottsdale’s Canaly-oop”, where guests can enjoy a series of basketball-themed programs. “It is an absolute honor to present our residents and visitors with an all-new experience in Old Town,” said Karen Churchard, director of Tourism and Events for the city of Scottsdale. “The city of Scottsdale is working hard to position itself to attract global events and this experience is certain to shine a spotlight on our community.” Old Town Scottsdale is set to feature oversized basketballs in the Arizona Canal and installations around the Marshall Way Bridge including a tournament bracket board and larger than life basketball-themed artwork. Special programming will take place on Saturday, March 30 from 1-3 p.m., Saturday, April 6, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and Sunday, April 7, from 1-3 p.m. Activities include street performers, glitter tattoo artists, face painters and live music.     Provision Hosts Amaro-Themed Cocktail Mixology Class APRIL 6

Italian for “bitter,” Amaro encompasses a dynamic and diverse range of bitter aperitifs such as Aperol, Campari, Fernet and Montenegro, to name a few.   This fun and informal class will transport guests into the world of Amaro, courtesy of Provision Bar Manager David Royer.     Scottsdale Gallery Association Debuts Small Works, Big Talent Gold Palette ArtWalk

    The Scottsdale Gallery Association (SGA) is pleased to present its Small Works, Big Talent Gold Palette ArtWalk. The event takes place Thursday, April 11 from 6:30-9 p.m. throughout the Scottsdale Arts District, which stretches along Main St. from Scottsdale Rd. to Goldwater Blvd. and north of Indian School Rd. on Marshall Way to 5th Ave.   During the event, guests can enjoy live entertainment and refreshments. Participating SGA members will host themed exhibitions highlighting small works of amazing artists within their galleries.   “It is our goals as an association to uncover and advocate for all types of art and artists in our community and beyond,” says Scottsdale Gallery Association President French Thompson. “We are thrilled to debut our ‘Small Works, Big Talent’ ArtWalk, which highlights a variety of art mediums on a small scale.”   The following galleries are featuring exhibitions within their storefronts during the event:   Carstens Fine Art Studio & Gallery 7100 E.
