From Ohio? Donatos is Here for You!

The Dish: An OMG Pizza

The Place: Donatos Pizza at Red Robin

The Location: All Valley Red Robin Locations

Attention all pizza lovers and especially Phoenicians who’ve relocated here from Ohio! Donatos Pizza in here…at all Red Robins in Phoenix!  Founded in Columbus, Ohio in 1963 this family community business is doing pizza like not to many pie makers.  Donatos is Latin for “to give a good thing” and Donatos lives up to it’s name!

Donatos is very different from so many pizza makers.  One of the reasons is the “edge to edge promise” you can find on their website. It states, “No smattering of sausage here, a few slices of pepperoni there.  Your Donatos pizza is loaded edge to edge with toppings – so it’s consistently delicious, bite after savory bite.”  The pizzas are known for 100 slices of lean crispy pepperoni on every pepperoni pizza.  They encourage you to count them (you might even find more than the 100!). Their cheese is premium, only real Wisconsin cheese, naturally smoked, aged Provolone cheese.

We had the pleasure of trying two pies a few weeks back inside Red Robin, and put it this way. We have since ordered a few deliveries to the house. Oh, did I forget to mention, they deliver! Our go-to pizza is the Founders Favorite, with their home made sausage, thick cuts of ham and pepperocini (my favorite). We order it a little crispy. Can’t wait to try the new Whiskey River BBQ with either sliced chicken or beef with smoked provolone, hardwood smoked bacon, shredded cheddar, and crispy onion straws drizzled with Whiskey River BBQ sauce.  Is your mouth watering??

The 14 inch serves 3 to 4 and is $17.99. I wish they made a 18 inch!  Next time you order pizza for delivery, give Red Robin a call and get yourself a Donatos Pizza!  We guarantee you’ll LOVE it!  If you have any friends from Ohio, tell them about it and I promise they will be beyond excited for Donatos!  Oh, one more thing.  Donatos, please bring the Hot Chicken pizza to Red Robin soon! 🙂
