The Inaugural Crushbrew Festival Crafted 1000’s of Happy Go’ers

The Event: Crushbrew Festival
The Date: February 19th and 20th
Location: Scottsdale Waterfront

The 1st Annual Crushbrew Festival took place February 19th and 20th. When I first heard of the Crushbrew Festival, like many people, I assumed it was mostly geared towards beer lovers (not that there’s anything wrong with that), but the event was so much more. There were several dozen venders sampling craft beers, boutique wines, and craft distilled spirits. Local food vendors were also at the event serving up everything from Specialty Dogs to Artisan Chocolates. The Scottsdale Waterfront was the perfect venue for the event, providing a stunning backdrop impressing both locals and visitors alike. Welcoming over 4,000 attendees.

The festival also hosted a Pizza Throwdown, which featured 8 of the valleys top wood-fired pizza vendors. Guests were able to sample and vote for their favorite. Congratulations to Nicastro Pizza for winning the Pizza Throwdown!

The event also provided a VIP area, for an additional ticket charge providing a lounge area with plush seating, additional vendors, serving up impressive cocktails, wine and beer, a cigar lounge and food, such as Fried Catfish and Mac N Cheese (which I’m still thinking about, because it was so delicious).

What many people don’t know, which makes the event more impressive, is that it was created as a fundraiser to support two charities that support local and global organizations:

-EdArtzaz provides funding for arts and education non-profits through grants both directly and through collaborative partnerships.

-Pipeline Works is a non-profit organization serving the needs of people locally and around the world.

If you missed The Crushbrew Festival, dates for the 2017 will be announced next month and you can count on Az Food and Wine to keep you up to date on the information, so you won’t miss out on next years event.

*The admission for the event was complimentary, but in no way impacted the overall experience and opinion of the event.
