There’s a new kid on the block; namely, a cool wine and craft beer bar named Original Gravity (and if you’re wondering what that term means, check it out HERE). One of the great things about this place is that the actual block it’s located on is about two miles away from Biltmore’s very busy central hub (around the vicinity of 24th Street and Camelback Road). Being a little bit out of the way means fewer crowds, easier parking, and a more intimate vibe.

Original Gravity has a relatively small, private front patio, which is (happily) dog friendly, and a larger patio in the back with cushioned bench seating and a few activities (like giant Jenga—which seems to be everywhere these days). It’s a nice, chill area to relax in.

The style inside is modern and sleek, done mostly in hues of grey, with bright pops of orange and some rather unique (conversation-starting) black and white photos—I’ll let you make of them what you will when you check this place out for yourself. Art is art!

During our visit there we tried a variety of dishes: IPA glazed bacon, which was a little more soaked than glazed, so the bacon was a little on the soggy side, but still tasty ($5), the double-trouble fries, a combo of house and sweet potato fries with OG’s secret sauce ($4), carnitas tacos with fresh ingredients and distinct layers of flavor ($10), pretzels with cheese sauce; without a doubt, our favorite ($9), baked mac-n-cheese, which was gone in a matter of seconds ($6), and a combo of wine, beer, and sake. If there’s one thing OG isn’t lacking in, it’s an amazing selection of adult beverages, especially beer. Their rotating tap list has dozens of craft brews, including a good mix from Arizona breweries, like Dragoon IPA and Papago Orange Blossom.

Stop by during happy hour for reduced prices on several of the items listed above, including a few others, and very reasonable drink deals: Monday-Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Two thumbs up on Original Gravity. Liked the location, the space, the food, and the service. Glad to have them in the neighborhood!
