Today we had the pleasure of trying out Sip Coffee and Beer House at the south end of Scottsdale road (the only place on Scottsdale Road you have to go left or right) in Old Town Scottsdale (next to the future Goldwater Brewery). This incredibly eclectic coffee and beer house is incredibly inviting. From a table made from (what I think is) an old Petes Fish and Chip sign to the vintage bottles used as vases, and the mixture of chairs and sofas you might find in your grandmas house, the decor and design alone makes you want to hang out and working or meet friends. Here’s how they describe their story…
“Our goal is to bring the small town feel to Downtown Scottsdale. We will be using as many local products as possible and intend to provide high end coffee and craft beers in a very unique and eclectic space. Music will be just as important as our coffee and beer, playing a huge role in creating our atmosphere and identity.”

We tried a vanilla latte and the chopped kale salad. The latte was great, though a friend on Facebook said “Try their Kevlar Coffee. It will give you the juice you need!” We’ll be doing that next time Scotty!

The chopped Kale Salad instantly became one of my Az favorite salads. This simple salad had two very distinct tastes, one bite that had cranberries, chicken and bacon, and a beautiful melody of popping and ballanced flavors, then the next bite with chicken, bacon and garbanzo beans was an awesome protein punch of meaty flavors.

I can’t wait to try making this salad at home but plan to be a regular at Sip! Get to Oldtown and try out this incredible house…it’s a guarantee hit!
